SOCIETA FILARMONICA LA VITTORIA MELLIEĦA - A.D. 1907
La Vittoria Band Club was enacted in the year 1906, when a group of friends from the Northern town of Malta, called Mellieħa, formed a club with the name La Vittoria (the Victory - named after the local patron of Mellieħa). In the following year (1907), the La Vittoria Band performed for the first time in Malta (at the Santwarju tal-Madonna in Mellieħa, under the direction of Carmelo Doneo (it’s first band master).
Officially the band was effectively inaugurated a few months after on the 7th of September 1907 with a traditional band march in the Mellieħa Parish Square.
Over the years, the La Vittoria Band Club evolved and nowadays, the Band Club has over 60 musicians forming part of the Band Club. The vision over the years changed, instead of looking at La Vittoria Band Club as a typical traditional music band club, La Vittoria is now an institution, where it offers a successful Music School, encourages Development of musicians of all ages, helps the Mellieħa community is music awareness and promotes the involvement of younger musicians in preparing them for a solid music career.
TRADITIONAL MARCHING BAND
La Vittoria Band (LVBC) Club is one of the 91 traditional marching bands aimed to promote and safeguard Maltese Culture and traditions. The Band currently consists of 60 members who all form part of the LVBC and are currently active musicians in playing typical traditional band marches across Malta and Gozo.
VUcijiet vittorjani
The La Vittoria Choir is made up of 20 young aspiring singers, who under guidance and tuition of La Vittoria teachers perform across various events in Malta. The Choir is always looking to attract young singers to join their ranks and be part of the Vucijiet Vittorjani.
MUSIC SCHOOL
La Vittoria encourages young aspiring musicians to join their school and learn to play an instrument. La Vittoria Music School promises to provide the necessary tools and teachers in assisting with the development of musical talent and cohesive guidance to all its students. The La Vittoria Music School also encourage people of all ages and from part of the Maltese Islands to join our school.
CONCERTS (OF ALL KIND)
Apart from the traditional band marches, La Vittoria Band, expanded its music view in adapting to modern times. LVBC is famous in the Northern part of the Island for its Annual Concerts, where entertainment and quality music is guaranteed. Join Us every year on the 3rd and 4th of September for spectacular events.
MUSIC THEORY
Apart from musical development, the La Vittoria Music School also provides the service of Music Theory. We have qualified teachers, who have the necessary qualifications in guiding students in developing and enhancing their music theory knowledge and prepare them for exams.
MEDIA (SOCIAL ACTIVE)
La Vittoria Band Club has a team of people who ensure that people who are outside of Malta, still able to watch/listen and enjoy performance from the Band. La Vittoria has a Live streaming service for all major events the LVBC participates in and guarantee entertainment all year long.
